Worlds Away

what the nomad brought home

20yearsfromnow

I choose to go by a pseudonym here on WordPress because I’d rather my writing betray my identity, than my identity betray my writing.  Thus, I’ve opted not to display any pictures of myself, or even my actual name.  I’m a pretty open book though, as a person, so I don’t mind sharing more about who I am.  That said, in keeping with the very random nature of my personality, here comes the (non-exhaustive) list!

I am a perpetual student, a daughter, a sister, a traveler, a feminist, a lover, a free spirit, a dreamer, an old soul, an “open soul,” a procrastinator, a coal cracker, a citizen of the world, a pilgrim of fate, an observer of coincidence, a nightowl, a lover of music, and a friend.  I have been a foreigner, an accidental exile, a teacher, a tomboy, a calendar girl, and a nerd.  You could say that I am multilingual, affectionate, playful, persistent, clumsy, sarcastic, gentle, random, hypoglycemic, introspective, extraverted, shy (Yes, extraverted and shy.), cautious, spontaneous, sensual, analytical, diplomatic, passionate, genuine, and, as anyone else, flawed.

Among other goals, I would like to think of myself, someday, as a writer, but for now, I just play with words, trying to re-connect with my essence and salvage my command of my native language by baring my soul here in these verses.

If you’ve made it this far, I offer you my sincerest thanks for reading!  Please feel free to leave comments or questions anytime!

  1. Well written, a very romantic poem.

I’ve often times wondered if something like this does in fact exist as even scientists talk about “genetic memory.” This is why beings instinctively fear certain things like fire, and instinctively are drawn to things that are adaptive to their survival.

(I finally took your advice and made it to the blog)

  3. Well, I know all of my western signs (sun, moon, etc.), but I didn’t know my Maya sign. You made me curious, so I just looked it up now; I’m a 9 Flint, and the description looked amazingly on-target. Pretty cool. What’s yours?

  5. Thanks for the link! That’s an interesting site. I’m a spectral human. It’s a lot more detailed than the last site I found (the one that told me I was 9 flint):
